At Career Wisdom, “career” is used in its broadest sense, to describe activities of doing in our lives (not just in paid work), whilst “wisdom” reminds us of being connected with who we really are.  Career Wisdom relates to finding your right livelihood – what is right for you, as well as for the common good of society, and is reflected in this wonderful quote:

“Where your talents and the needs of the world cross, there lies your vocation.” — Aristotle

Career Wisdom embraces the “High Five Principles of Career Development” put forth by a clever group of Canadian Career Development practitioners:

1. Change is constant

2. Learning is ongoing

3. Focus on the journey

4. Follow your heart

5. Access your allies

The Career Wisdom logo draws inspiration from the Celtic Tree of Life and elements of Wisdom and Learning. The tree in the logo is similar to a Monterey Pine which grows along the California coastline - buffeted by strong winds it grows there in spite of the harsh elements.  The roots of the tree represent putting down strong foundations, knowing yourself and building connections with others.  The birds? …. they represent your dreams taking flight!
